RU POV: Russian advances on Day 826, 827 and 828 of the war - Suriyakmaps

May 30, 2024 — Jun 1, 2024 War Day 826–828

I was busy the past few days so didn't have time to do an analysis, so you've got 3 days in 1 today.

Pics 1 and 2 are from Day 826, Pic 3 is from Day 827, and Pics 4 and 5 are from Day 828.

I'll be uploading the summary of territorial changes for May soon.

A reminder that these maps are confirming updates from yesterday (i.e. 12 to 24 hours delayed).

Russian Forces Advance: 0.62 km²

Advance = 0.62km2

Following on from Day 825, as I mentioned, Russian forces made larger gains in Staromaiorske, capturing the eastern and central parts of the town. Ukraine now only controls a handful of warehouses on the northern side, and will almost certainly be forced out of them over the next few days.

Whilst there is a trenchline north of the town which Ukraine could fall back to, it is on the north side of one of the treelines, as it was built by Russia prior to the counteroffensive (thus meaning it faces the wrong way). Ukrainian forces in neighbouring Urozhaine will also be in trouble, as Russia now able to attack them from the opposite side.

Russian Forces Advance: 0.06 km²

Advance = 0.06km2

Following intense clashes over the past few days, Russia was able to capture one of the factories in the industrial area of Vovchansk. Ukrainian forces north of the river are primarily being supplied by pontoon bridges and bridging vehicles, which are getting knocked out by Russia shortly after being set up. Other supplies are able to be carried across the river by hand, but it is becoming increasingly difficult for Ukraine to maintain their presence on the northern side.

If Ukraine falls back south of the river, fighting in this area will likely become stagnant, as neither side will be able to cross the river without heavy losses.
Russian Forces Advance: 5.01 km²

op Advance = 0.56km2, Middle Advance = 3.86km2, Bottom Advance = 0.59km2

Over the past few days Russian forces west of Avdiivka have made headway in a number of area. In the north, Russia managed to push up along the river towards Novopokrovs'ke, complicating Ukraine's defence as they may now face assaults from both sides of the river, in addition to those already being launched from the east.

West of Semenivka, Russian forces managed to take over a large proportion of the central fields. This came as a result of the capture of Umanske, which made the eastern Ukrainian positions vulnerable to attacks from multiple sides. Ukrainian forces will likely continue retreating west, ceding one field at a time.

Around Netailovo, Russia managed to capture the forested area just north of the town over the river. This advance was to be expected, as with the fall of Netailovo Ukraine could no longer contest this area without suffering unnecessary casualties.
Russian Forces Advance: 0.24 km²

Advance = 0.24km2

In the north, clashes continue around Berestove following Russian capture of the village a few days ago. Ukrainian forces are trying to counterattack to keep Russia from solidifying control over the village and surrounding fields. Meanwhile, a different Russian assault group (mechanised) made progress pushing west, capturing some trenches and treelines. There is a video of this assault, however it has not been posted to the sub yet so I can't link it.
Russian Forces Advance: 1.69 km²

Very Top Advance = 0.22km2, Top Advance = 0.28km2, Bottom Advance = 1.19km2

Back to the Avdiivka area again, Russian forces made slight progress at Novooleksandrivka, capturing more of the fields and the trenchline which had stalled their progress. The eastern side of the town has now fallen into the grey zone, however Russia does not yet have a foothold there.
